Houston offers great mild and warm weather perfect for a motorcycle. As the fourth most populated United States city with millions of cars on the road, your safety is an issue. Even if a motorcyclist follows every law, he or she can still be involved in an accident. And, as you know a motorcyclist is more prone to injuries and death because a motorcycle doesn't offer much protection. By following a few simple precautions, you can help make sure each trip you take on a bike is a safe one.

Helmets save lives. Only 20 of our 50 states require motorcyclists of all ages to wear helmets, but riders and passengers across America should wear them. A helmet should fit snugly around your head and along your forehead. It should not interfere with your vision. If you decide to use a full-face helmet, choose one with a front vent to prevent your visor from fogging up.
When motorcycle riding, you should where clothes that protect you from elements such as wind, insects, and debris flying on the road. Light-colored clothing helps make yourself more visible to other motorists. Wearing leather jackets, gloves, jeans and other protective clothing can prevent or reduce abrasions and lacerations in a collision.
Motorcycle riders should protect their feet and ankles. Leather boots work best. Don't wear sandals or flip-flops.
